You have to hand it to Oreo; they have, for many years, been one of the most loved cookie brands in all of cookie history. The concept was very simple: a layer of cream placed inside of two chocolate-flavored cookies. Sounds simple, but the flavor of the cream and the cookies of the original style is just undeniably sensational and highly addictive. Over time, they would come up with more flavors, keeping it simple at first: a vanilla cookie with cream inside, and then they moved on to stuffing a little more cream inside those cookies. And here we are in 2026, and after having enjoyed many limited edition Oreo flavors in the past, like the Selena Gomez limited edition, Post Malone limited edition, and of course so many different flavors that come and go, Oreo has just released one of the best-tasting Oreo cookies I have ever experienced. That is, my friends, the new BTS flavor.
If you’re my age or over 50, there is a good chance you may not know who BTS is. Unless, of course, you have teenage kids. BTS is a South Korean boy band that’s been around since 2009. Over that time, they have become the biggest-selling musical act in South Korean music history. They have sold over 40 million albums. They helped fuel a new style of music called K-pop, that the kitties just can’t get enough of. Like I say in the video below, it’s not my style of music, but you’ve got to respect an artist, or we should say, a musical group, producers, and everyone involved in the band for having that much success. BTS is not the first musical artist that an Oreo has been named after. As I said in the introduction, there were just a handful of releases that we saw a year ago named after Post Malone and Selena Gomez, and both of those cookie flavors were incredible. So how does the new cookie flavor representing BTS stack up against those two? Well, it’s hard to judge based on memories, because I can’t A and B them, but as far as just how good the BTS cookie flavor is, it’s spectacular.
The filling inside the new Oreo BTS cookie is described by Oreo as brown sugar pancake-flavored cream. And below that is Japanese writing, which probably says the same thing. That wonderful brown sugar pancake-flavored cream is placed inside two purple Oreo cookies. Does it really taste like brown sugar pancake flavor? I would have to say yes, it does. It tastes like pancakes with brown sugar. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s brilliant. The biggest issue you may have if you buy a pack of these Oreo BTS cookies is not eating the whole bag at first. They are that good. I solved that problem by taking a few cookies for the review and putting the rest of the bag on the kitchen table. I knew that once I put them on the kitchen table, they would be gone by the next morning. And yes, the bag was still there, but it was completely empty.
