Some candy reviews turn into complete disasters, and honestly, this Peelerz Gummies taste test went completely off the rails almost immediately.
The idea behind Peelerz is actually pretty creative. These gummies are designed to peel apart like real fruit. On paper, that sounds fun. In reality, it turned my table into a sticky crime scene filled with paper towels, sanitizer, gummy residue, and growing frustration.
This may be one of the craziest candy taste tests I have ever done for RockinFoodie.com.
Kids will probably love these things because they turn candy into an activity. Adults, on the other hand, may quickly start asking the same question I did after a few minutes: why am I peeling gummy candy with sticky hands when I could just eat normal candy instead?
Still, some of these flavors actually tasted pretty good once you got past the chaos.
Peelerz Gummies are one of the newer viral candy products that aim to transform candy eating into a fully interactive experience. Instead of simply opening a bag and eating gummies normally, Peelerz are designed with soft outer layers that can supposedly peel away from the candy center like real fruit skins.
The product quickly gained attention online because the peeling concept looked strange, messy, and oddly satisfying on social media videos. The candies come in multiple fruit-inspired flavors, including orange, kiwi, mango, pineapple, banana, and cherry blossom combinations.
But there is a major difference between watching someone peel these online for 10 seconds and actually sitting down to try to eat a full bag yourself.
This review became less about candy flavor and more about survival.
By the middle of the taste test, I was surrounded by sticky fingers, gummy residue, paper towels, and hand sanitizer, wondering why I voluntarily signed up for this assignment in the first place. Pistachio nuts are one thing. Spending several minutes peeling sticky gummy candy is another story entirely.
Still, I committed to the mission.
Some flavors were surprisingly decent.
Some were absolutely brutal.
And one flavor actually won this bizarre gummy battle.
In the video below, I rank Peelerz gummy candy flavors from worst to best during one of the messiest candy taste tests I have ever done.
Orange Review
The Orange flavor immediately sparked the chaos.
Right away, the peeling process became messy and frustrating. The gummy surface stuck to everything, including my fingers, and honestly, the peeling itself did not work very well.
Flavor-wise, the outside layer and softer center created an interesting texture contrast, but the effort required to get there almost outweighed the reward.
Orange earned a 5 out of 10.
Kiwi Review
Kiwi brought more sticky frustration, but at least the flavor improved slightly.
The peeling process still refused to cooperate, and by this point, I was already questioning my life choices during this taste test. However, the kiwi flavor itself tasted fairly good once I gave up trying to peel it properly.
Kiwi earned a 6 out of 10.
Cherry Blossom Review
Cherry Blossom finally delivered one small victory because this was the first flavor that actually peeled somewhat correctly.
The bag included strawberry and matcha combinations with visible color separation between the layers. The peeling gimmick worked better here, although the candy still created plenty of sticky fingers.
The flavor itself remained decent but not spectacular.
Cherry Blossom earned a 5 out of 10.
Mango Review
Mango completely collapsed under the pressure.
The peeling process became annoying almost immediately, and by this point, I was clearly losing patience with the entire concept. The texture felt awkward, messy, and frustrating.
Honestly, I did not even want to continue eating it.
Mango earned a brutal 0 out of 10.
Pineapple Review
Pineapple finally brought a little redemption back into the review.
The flavor worked well, especially the softer center, which tasted much better than the outer layer. The peeling still felt unnecessary, but at least the candy delivered decent tropical flavor.
Pineapple earned a strong 6 out of 10 and temporarily moved into first place.
Banana Review
Then came Banana.
And things ended badly.
The flavor immediately went off the rails to the point where I had to spit the candy out entirely. The texture and flavor combination simply did not work for me at all.
Banana earned a catastrophic score of -5 out of 10.
Final Rankings
6 – Banana, negative 5 out of 10
5 – Mango, 0 out of 10
4 – Orange, 5 out of 10
3 – Cherry Blossom, 5 out of 10
2 – Kiwi, 6 out of 10
1 – Pineapple, 6 out of 10
Winner
Pineapple
The Pineapple flavor managed to survive the sticky madness better than the others, thanks to a solid tropical flavor and a softer center texture that actually tasted enjoyable.
Conclusion
Peelerz Gummies may be one of the strangest candy concepts I have reviewed so far on RockinFoodie.com.
Kids will probably have a blast with these because the peeling gimmick turns candy into an activity. Adults, however, may quickly become exhausted by sticky fingers, messy cleanup, and the endless peeling process.
At times, this review felt less like a candy taste test and more like a wrestling match against gummy fruit skins.
Still, the experience was definitely memorable, and honestly, that may be exactly why this candy became popular in the first place.
