Some pizzerias on Long Island build their reputation around giant specialty pies and flashy social media creations. Albert’s Pizza succeeds in a different way. Located just off Motor Parkway in Hauppauge, Albert’s has become a dependable lunch stop for workers throughout the massive Hauppauge Industrial Park who want fast service, affordable prices, and a solid New York-style slice during a busy workday.

Albert’s Pizza earned a spot in our Best Pizza in Hauppauge feature because it represents such an important part of the town’s pizza culture. This is the kind of dependable lunch pizzeria that helps keep the Hauppauge Industrial Park moving during busy weekdays, serving quick slices, affordable lunch specials, and fresh pizza to the steady flow of workers coming through the area. Interestingly, the first time I stopped there to film this review was on a Saturday, only to discover the dining room was closed. However, the restaurant still appears to handle delivery orders through its website using the Slice platform, so while sitting down inside may mainly be a weekday thing, customers can still order food online on weekends. I eventually returned during the workweek lunch rush to try a regular slice and an upside-down slice while getting a better feel for why Albert’s continues to hold its place as a reliable Hauppauge pizza stop.

One of Albert’s biggest strengths is the value. Long Island pizza prices continue climbing almost everywhere, yet Albert’s still offers one of the better lunch specials in the area. As of this writing, two slices and a bottle of soda still come in under ten dollars, which feels increasingly rare these days. For office workers, warehouse crews, and people grabbing lunch between meetings, that combination of speed, convenience, and affordability clearly matters.

The restaurant itself keeps things simple and comfortable. There is plenty of seating inside, and the atmosphere feels practical and welcoming without trying to be trendy or overdesigned. During the visit, the man working behind the counter, who appeared to possibly be the owner, was extremely friendly and easygoing, creating the kind of neighborhood pizzeria atmosphere that still feels very Long Island.

The review focused on a regular slice and an upside-down slice. The first thing that immediately stood out about the regular slice was the freshness of the dough. There was something very clean and fresh-tasting about the crust that gave the slice an appealing quality right away. Even though the sauce and cheese leaned more traditional and straightforward rather than overly bold or heavily seasoned, everything worked together nicely. Sometimes a slice does not need to be overpowered by sauce or spices to be enjoyable. Albert’s regular slice delivered a balanced, easy-to-eat pizza that felt especially well-suited for the fast-paced lunch crowd they serve every day.

The upside-down slice took a slightly different approach than the heavier Sicilian-style upside-down pies many Long Islanders may expect. Albert’s version came thinner and lighter, making it feel more approachable for a quick lunch rather than a massive square slice designed to fill you up for the entire day. It offered a different texture and style while still fitting naturally alongside the restaurant’s straightforward lunch counter identity.

Albert’s menu goes far beyond traditional pizza. Customers can choose from grandma pies, vodka grandma pies, buffalo chicken pizza, baked ziti pizza, Philly steak pizza, deep dish specialty pies, calzones, garlic knots, heroes, wraps, gyros, tacos, burritos, wings, pasta dishes, and baked Italian specialties. The restaurant also offers several large family meal deals that combine pies, wings, rolls, garlic knots, and soda at prices that still feel very competitive on Long Island.

Albert’s Pizza understands exactly what it is supposed to be. This is not a flashy gourmet pizza destination trying to reinvent Long Island pizza culture. It is a hardworking Hauppauge pizzeria serving fresh slices, quick lunches, and dependable comfort food to a steady stream of people moving through one of Suffolk County’s busiest business districts every single day.
